Driver Killed, Woman Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Collision In Montebello

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — Detectives were on the scene of a motorcycle traffic collision Sunday that killed a man and severely injured a woman.

According to the Montebello Police Department, officers were sent around 4:43 a.m. to the 400 block of East Avenida De La Merced for report of a fatal traffic collision.

Once on scene, an adult male and female were located with severe injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were traveling Eastbound when the man lost control of the motorcycle and struck a curb.

Both of the victims were ejected from the motorcycle.

The driver was transported to Los Angeles County Medical Center, where he later died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The L.A. County Coroner's Office identified him as Hugo Fragoso, 19, or Montebello.

The female victim sustained serious injuries in the crash, but is expected to survive.
