Dodgers fans celebrate thrilling World Series victory in Los Angeles
Los Angeles Dodgers fans took to the streets on Saturday night to celebrate the squad's epic victory in Game 7 of the World Series over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Fireworks were seen across LA within moments of the final out in the Dodgers' 5-4 win in 11 innings.
"It's amazing I'm so happy for Dodgers Nation," one fan told CBS LA.
The Dodgers came out on top with a trio of clutch solo home runs - one from Max Muncy in the eighth, a shot from Miguel Rojas to tie the game in the ninth and another from Will Smith to go up 1 in the 11th.
"Miguel Rojas, I underestimated him," a fan told CBS LA. "He saved the game ... The game was about to be over and then Miguel Rojas stopped it from being over."
Fans gathered in downtown Los Angeles to celebrate the win as soon as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was named the MVP of the series, got Alejandro Kirk to ground into a double play.
The title is their second consecutive and third of the decade.
As celebrations began, the Los Angeles Police Department issued a dispersal order at Figueroa and Chick Hearn/11th Street in downtown, just outside of LA Live, and another at Sunset and Echo Park.
The LAPD said less-than-lethal munitions were authorized for use in the area of Sunset and Echo Park after industrial-size fireworks were launched into a group of people, which included police officers.
