1 Killed, 1 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Westwood

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding a deadly traffic collision that occurred in Westwood.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, two vehicles collided around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Wilshire and Beverly Glen boulevards.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned a speeding vehicle crashed into a Chevrolet Camaro within the intersection.

A passenger who was sitting in the front seat of the Camaro was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Paramedics transported the driver of the Camaro to UCLA Medical Center with unknown injuries. An update on their condition was not immediately available.

It remains unclear if anyone sustained injuries in the second vehicle.

Police are investigating whether DUI played a factor in the crash.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m., officers reopened the intersection of Wilshire and Beverly Glenn boulevards.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
