Boy, 4, In Good Condition After Being Ejected From SUV On Interstate 5

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A 4-year-old boy is in good condition after he was ejected from an SUV during a crash Interstate 5, a California Highway Patrol spokesman announced Thursday.

The SUV hit a wall on the shoulder of the southbound side of the freeway, near Magnolia Street, at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, CHP Officer George Salas told the Orange County Register.

The boy, who became dislodged from his car seat in the accident, made a soft landing in some ice plants about 20 feet from the crash site, according to Salas.

"How he didn't hit the concrete is beyond me," Salas said. "He should buy a lottery ticket."

The boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution, said Salas, adding the boy's parents were uninjured in the accident.
