Bear wanders around Ventura County neighborhood

Crews appeared to tranquilize a bear in a Ventura County residential neighborhood on Wednesday after it decided to take a morning stroll.

According to the city of Fillmore, the bear was spotted on the 800 block of 4th Street sometime before 10 a.m. No reports of any damage or injuries were made as of 11:20 a.m.

California Fish and Wildlife sent three units to respond to the situation, the city said. The department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Aerial footage showed the bear walking around the residential area before appearing to settle underneath a recreational vehicle. After several hours, crews appeared to sedate the bear and take it into custody.
