Violent Crash Kills 3, Hospitalizes 1 In Arcadia

ARCADIA (CBSLA.com) — Three people were killed Tuesday morning in a traffic collision that occurred in Arcadia.

The crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. near Live Oak and Santa Anita avenues, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed a driver lost control of their vehicle while traveling westbound on Live Oak Avenue, and subsequently struck a light pole and a brick wall.

Upon their arrival, paramedics pronounced three people dead at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending family notification.

A fourth passenger was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. He remains listed in critical condition at this time.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported skid marks stretch across 50-feet of pavement leading up to the site of the crash.

The driver was traveling home with a group of friends after attending a birthday party.

It remains unclear how fast the vehicle was traveling.

All westbound lanes of Live Oak Avenue will remain closed until further notice.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
