Amazon To Bring 2,500 Jobs To Calif. With Redlands Fulfillment Center

REDLANDS (CBSLA.com) — Amazon.com announced Thursday plans to open a fifth California fulfillment center in Redlands.

The new center will bring hundreds of jobs to the city and about 2,500 jobs across the state, according to officials.

"We have found great talent in the state and we're excited to be growing quickly to serve our customers," said Mike Roth, Amazon's vice president of North America operations.

Amazon employees at the 700,000 square-foot Redlands fulfilment center will pick, pack and ship large items to customers such as big-screen televisions or kayaks, for example.

The company's other California fulfillment centers are located in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Patterson and Tracy.
