Air Conditioner Units Ripped Out Of Walls Behind Simi Valley Businesses, Churches

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Police are investigating a series of air conditioner thefts from businesses and churches all over Simi Valley.

Since mid-January, thefts of air conditioner units have been reported during the nighttime hours at nine local businesses and churches, Simi Valley police officials said.

The thefts happen to the rear of the business or church, out of public view. The units are wrenched out of the walls, with thieves leaving behind torn wires, pipes and bolts.

Because of the size of the equipment, police believe the thieves are using trucks or vans to steal the air conditioner units.

Anyone with information about these thefts can contact Simi Valley police Detective J. Lorencz at (805) 583-6958.
