3 killed in crash in San Fernando Valley

Three people died after a hit-and-run crash in a San Fernando Valley intersection Friday night. 

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the three-car collision happened at around 9:35 p.m. near 9350 N. Woodman Avenue in Panorama City. The Los Angeles Police Department said the suspect fled after the crash. 

According to the LAFD, a 30-year-old man was found dead inside a van. Another man, 25, was trapped inside the same van and was later extricated and transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A pair of occupants of a Ford Mustang, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were both 20 years old.

No additional details were immediately made available. No suspect information was released.

LAFD urged drivers to use alternate routes because the intersection will be closed for an extended period.
