Westland man charged with possessing child sexually abusive material

A Southeast Michigan man has been charged with possessing child sexually abusive material, the Wayne County Prosecutor's office said. 

Terence Darell Gaines Jr., 21, of Westland, has been charged with one count each of the following: 

  • Aggravated child sexually abusive material – possession. 
  • Child sexually abusive material – possession. 
  • Using a computer to commit a crime. 

The charges are in the aftermath of Westland police officers finding child sexually abusive materials at a local home on Aug. 13, the prosecutor's report said. 

Gaines had an arraignment hearing Aug. 16 in the 18th District Court in Westland. Bond was set at $50,000 cash/surety. He is prohibited from communicating with minors or using a computer while the case is pending.
