Saturday afternoon began so well for Jabrill Peppers.

He recorded his first career interception and set up a touchdown with a thrilling kickoff return in his team's biggest game of the season, helping Michigan to a 17-7 lead over Ohio State after three quarters of play.

Then it all fell apart.

The Wolverines bent in the fourth quarter and broke in overtime. Afterward, Peppers snapped. ESPN cameras caught Michigan's most ballyhooed player getting into an ugly altercation with a fan as thousands of red-clad spectators stormed the field at Ohio Stadium.

It's obviously not a good look for Peppers, the red-shirt sophomore who some consider a Heisman Trophy candidate. Simply put, he lost his cool in a difficult moment. And though it happens to everyone, it bears mention that Peppers reacted as angrily (one might say petulantly) after the game as Jim Harbaugh did during it -- and then again in his post-game press conference.

Players tend to take their cues from their coaches.

This will ultimately blow over, but Michigan is likely to consider some form of discipline first.
