NOVI (WWJ) - Novi police are reaching out to the public for to help to find a man who is off his medications and may be in danger.

Michael Najib Atisha, 33, was last seen Sunday evening at his home in the Novi's Springs apartments complex on  Lakeview Court, off of Pontiac Trial in northern Novi.

Assistant Police Chief Jerrod Hart says Atisha doesn't have a car, and may be trying to get to Michigan State University from Novi on foot.

"It's one of the many possibilities he may be doing today," said Hart. "It's just one of the places that he commonly would take about.

Hart said Atisha's family is worried because they haven't been able to get in touch with him, and they're hoping a tip will help them find Atisha so they can return him safely home.

"I can't share the specifics on what medication he should be taking, but indication from the family is that he isn't taking his prescribed medications right now, so that is one of the concerns," Hart said.

Atisha is described as Arabic, about 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, with dark brown/black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark pants, two heavy plaid shirts and black tennis shoes. Police said he's been known to stay at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Southfield.
