Police Renew Plea For Tips One Year After Gas Station Clerk's Murder

TROY (WWJ) - A year has passed and authorities in Oakland County are still searching for the gunman who killed a 63-year-old gas station clerk.

Athir Putres, of Rochester Hills, was gunned down around 1:20 p.m. Feb. 8, 2014 while working inside the Clark gas station on Rochester Road and South Boulevard in Troy. Police say a couple of teenagers discovered Putres' body behind the counter. He died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators have received many tips from the public regarding this case, but have not been able to find Putres' killer.

The suspected shooter is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 5'9" tall with a medium build, and a mustache.
