Pins Don't Fall For Record-Seeking Bowler

CLIO, Mich. (AP) — The pins kept standing for a Flint-area bowler trying to set a record for most strikes in a minute.

Jason Hicks of Clio was trying to get 13 strikes in 60 seconds Friday night, but he fell short. TV station WEYI says a large crowd turned out at the Clio Bowling Arcade, about 15 miles north of Flint.

Hicks says, "I put on the best show I could."

It's not his first roll at the record. Hicks got 12 strikes back in March — and threw a 13th just a second too late.

The 35-year-old Hicks says he's using the events to raise money for charities.
