Lions Re-Sign LB Steve Longa To Practice Squad And Release LB Zaviar Gooden From Practice Squad

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed LB Steve Longa to the team's practice squad and released LB Zaviar Gooden from the practice squad.

Longa originally joined the practice squad on September 5 and was elevated to the active roster last week vs. Philadelphia (10/9) before being waived on October 11. Prior to entering the NFL with Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent this past offseason, the 6-0, 241-pound linebacker started all 37 games he played in for the Scarlet Knights during his three-year career at Rutgers (2013-15).
