I-94 Backed Up At 8 Mile Road After Ambulance Involved In Crash

HARPER WOODS (WWJ) - An ambulance was involved in an accident on westbound I-94 at Allard Road in Harper Woods.

The freeway was shut down at 8 Mile, late Thursday afternoon, but reopened shortly before 5 p.m. WWJ Traffic Reporter Randy Bhirdo said traffic was still backed up near the scene as the afternoon rush continued.

Police said the accident involved the EMS truck and another car. It appears that no one was in the ambulance at the time.

There were only minor injuries.

It was not immediately clear who was at fault in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
