Downriver Shooting Suspect Turns Self In

LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) - A 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting Downriver has turned himself in to police.

Tobias Catron gave himself up to police on Thursday night, about 24 hours after a 40-year-old man was shot in the neck.

The shooting took place in the 1400 block of Mayflower, off Fort Street just south of Champaign Road. According to police, Catron was involved in some type of confrontation with the man shortly before the shooting.

The man, said to be the father of Catron's female friend, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck. He's expected to recover.

Police said Catron fled after the shooting, and was considered armed and dangerous.

The case remains under investigation.
