ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - An investigation is underway in St. Clair Shores after the body of a missing man was pulled from a canal at a park in St. Clair Shores.

Police said body was spotted at around 8 a.m. by a worker at Lake Front Park, off Jefferson Ave. at Marter. That's on the border of Grosse Pointe Woods, near the Edsel & Eleanor Ford Estate, on the shores of Lake St. Clair.

Police, fire and the Medical Examiner were on the scene four several hours at what officials say is a private park, with access limited to resident park pass holders.

Investigators were later able to identify the body as that of a 66-year-old man who was reported missing on Thursday.

Although an investigation is ongoing, police said preliminary information shows there was no signs of foul play. The man's name was not immediately released.
