Water Main Break Shuts Down SB Lanes Of Colorado Blvd.

DENVER (CBS4)- A water main break shut down all lanes of Colorado Boulevard north of Interstate 25 for a while. Southbound lanes were expected to open by 5 a.m. Friday.

The 12-inch water main break was discovered just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Arkansas Avenue.

Crews shut down all southbound lanes of Colorado Blvd. between Arkansas Avenue and Louisiana Avenue. A short time later all lanes of Colorado Blvd. were closed.

Northbound lanes reopened to traffic at 4:30 p.m.

Crews were working to isolate the break and make repairs. What caused the break is being investigated.

Crews advise drivers to take an alternate route until repairs are complete.
