Warning: Rattlesnake Encounters On The Increase

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Arvada say they've seen an increase in rattlesnakes because of the hot and dry weather.

One rattlesnake was discovered Tuesday at Tucker Lake. Animal control officers say the reptile was not fully adult yet, making it more dangerous. That's because the snake will inject all of its venom into whatever it strikes.

Police are reminding people to be careful and keep an eye out for snakes -- especially if they have dogs or small children.
