Some Evacuees Allowed To Return After Fire Burns 8 Homes

BEULAH, Colo. (CBS4)- Some people who were forced to evacuate because of a rapidly-growing wildfire near Pueblo have been allowed to return home.

Improved mapping shows the Beulah Hill Fire is smaller than previously thought. It has burned 4,800 acres since it started on Monday.

Nearly 2,000 people were evacuated, including the entire town of Beulah to the southwest of Pueblo.

Firefighters have shifted their efforts from structure protection to setting up fire containment lines. The fire was 50 percent contained on Wednesday night.

What caused the fire remains under investigation.
