Rockies Hosting Peanut Allergy Friendly Game

DENVER (CBS4) – "Buy me some peanuts and Crackerjack..." or not. The Colorado Rockies are having a special night to cater to fans with peanut allergies.

Fans with peanut allergies often can't attend the games due to the high risk of exposure with all the fans eating peanuts and throwing peanut shells.

Family and friends are invited to come and enjoy a "peanut controlled" night in the Mezzanine Party Suites at Coors Field and watch the Rockies take on the Phillies.

"It's an opportunity for folks with peanut allergies to come to a game," said Rockies spokesman Jay Alves.

This is the second time the Rockies have hosted an event like this with the first being last year.

The game takes place on April 18 and tickets are $35 per person.

All fans attending the event will be required to submit a signed waiver.

If the night is successful the Rockies may host another special game later this year.
