Power Restored To IREA Customers Between Tiny Town, Conifer

CONIFER, Colo. (CBS4)- Power was restored to thousands of IREA customers between Tiny Town and Conifer on Monday night after a small fire disrupted a power transmission line.

About 4,600 people were without power since Sunday when Xcel Energy's transmission line went down.

Those customers affected are part of Intermountain Rural Electric Association.

The outage area was along the Highway 285 corridor between Bailey and Tiny Town, and includes some customers near Conifer.

"IREA and Xcel worked as quickly as possible to restore power to our customers," said Josh Liss, Public and Regulatory Affairs Director for IREA. "We recognize how difficult a power outage can be to our customers."

While crews restored power, IREA brought in dry ice for impacted customers and set up mobile charging stations for customers to charge their cell phones so they could stay in communications.
