GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters are on scene of a fire at the Applewood Retirement Community on Youngfield Street in Golden.

West Metro Fire says one person was taken out of the building with unknown injuries to get medical help.

Copter4 saw smoke billowing from the top floors of the senior living apartment building.

Fire officials tell us one unit has heavy damage, and smoke spread to several other units.
