Man Shot By Denver Anti-Gang Activist Arrested In New Shooting

DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a man who was shot and paralyzed by one of Denver's leading anti-gang activists last year has been arrested in a drive-by shooting.

Court and jail records show Hasan "Munch" Jones, 23, was arrested Tuesday on charges related to the May shooting of another man.

Police say Jones has been using a wheelchair since he was shot by anti-gang activist Terrance Roberts at a community rally Roberts organized in September. Roberts says it was self-defense and is awaiting trial in that case.

Police reports from the May case say Jones was among passengers in a van who flashed gang signs before shots were fired, hitting a man in the arm.

Police say Jones initially denied involvement, but witnesses identified him. Court records do not list his attorney.
