Man Convicted For Role In Botched Pot Robbery Murder

EDGEWATER, Colo. (CBS4) - A 28-year-old man has been convicted in connection with a fatal shooting during a botched marijuana robbery in Edgewater.

Jose Luis Palacios was found guilty Friday in the death of 41-year-old John Goggin. The shooting occurred in October of 2013.

Floyd Anthony Sandoval, Jr., 25, is serving life in prison without parole for his role in the shooting.

Police said Palacios and Sandoval were attempting to buy several pounds of marijuana from Goggin but instead tried to rob him. Goggin also pulled a gun but was shot first.

Palacios faces life in prison without parole. He's scheduled to be sentenced on July 1.
