Close To Record Highs For Thanksgiving
DENVER (CBS4) - Mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions in Colorado didn't keep us from hitting the upper 60s in Denver on Wednesday. We soared back to well above average temperatures after a quick plummet on Tuesday.
Overall it was a dry day in Colorado, but we did see a little snow along the Continental Divide.
Get ready for even warmer temperatures for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. Thanksgiving Day will be mostly sunny, dry, and remarkably warm statewide. The record high temperature for Thanksgiving in Denver (regardless of the date) is 73° set in 1909. We should be really close to that record.
And not much will change for Friday with highs staying near 70° under mostly sunny skies. Saturday will be slightly cooler with perhaps an isolated shower over the northern mountains (north of I-70). We'll then return to near 70° for Sunday, and stay warm through early next week. If you're traveling this weekend after the holiday, the roads should be great for driving.
