Snow Piling Up In Our Mountains

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) -

Much needed snow is falling heavily in our mountains! We have plenty of Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories in place through midnight on Wednesday or early Thursday morning. Our southwestern mountains look to be hit the hardest, with up to two feet of snow possible by Thursday morning.

We've had rain here in Denver, which could turn to snow later in the evening. We don't expect much accumulation here in Denver, but parts of the eastern plains have the chance to see 1-2 inches of snow. We don't have a great chance for snow in Denver, but we can't rule out the possibility.

We return to sunshine on Thursday, but temperatures will feel a lot more like January in Colorado with temperatures right around 40 degrees.

Warmer and windy with the chance for mountain wave clouds on Friday, there could be more snow in the high country as well.

Our next chance for snow could be Sunday night into Monday.
