Warm Through the End of the Week, But a Cool Weekend Ahead

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - The last day of the summer was a warm and dry one - the official high at the airport and the downtown location both came in at 84 degrees - cooler than yesterday's 90, but warmer than the normal high of 76. for the first day of fall - much like the last day of summer: partly cloudy, maybe an isolated storm and a high right back in the mid 80s. The correct time that the Fall Season officially arrives is 8:21, Thursday morning. Then little change in the forecast for Friday with a high in the lower 80s.

Now as we head into the weekend, more clouds, maybe an isolated storm Saturday and a cooler high in the mid 60s. Early Saturday morning we could see snow over the northern mountains around Routt, Grand and Jackson counties: maybe 1-3 inches! Sunday will be a cool day in Denver - mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a high only in the upper 50s. Slightly warmer for Monday with a high back in the mid 60s under partly sunny skies.
