Smith Hill Fire Southeast Of Golden Gate Canyon State Park Fully Contained
GILPIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews battled a small fire burning on private land in Gilpin County. The Smith Hill Fire was less than one acre as of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Gilpin County Sheriff's Office and 13 firefighters with the U.S. Forest Service responded to the fire on the southeast side of Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
A small helicopter was also called in to drop water on the fire.
At around 8:30 p.m., the sheriff's office tweet the fire was 100% contained.
