Getaway Driver Convicted Of Murder In Slaying Of Grizzly Rose Security Guard

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- One of two suspects in the murder of a Grizzly Rose security guard has been convicted.

Jennifer Lewis was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the deadly shooting of Timothy Minnick.

Minnick, 48, was gunned down as he approached three suspects in the nightclub parking lot with another security guard on Dec. 12, 2008. The confrontation quickly turned violent and Minnick died after he was shot. The other security guard was injured in the scuffle.

Minnick was a former Brighton police officer.

Lewis, 32, was also convicted on three counts of attempted first-degree murder of two security guards and an off-duty police officer.

According to evidence presented in the trial, Lewis drove the getaway car after Minnick was shot. She will be sentenced on April 23.

Lewis and Gerald Michael Anthony Gurule were indicted by an Adams County grand jury last March. Gurule, 32, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of felony menacing. His trial is set for April 28.
