Fort Carson Getting New Commander In Thursday Ceremony

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Fort Carson's top general is leaving after more than two years on the job.

Maj. Gen. Paul J. LaCamera will transfer command of the post to Maj. Gen. Ryan F. Gonsalves in a ceremony Thursday.

LaCamera has been in charge of the post since March 2013. His next assignment hasn't been announced.

Gonsalves' previous assignment was director of Army operations, readiness and mobilization at the Pentagon. He has also led cavalry and armor units.
