Driver Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-70 Identified

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- The driver killed in Tuesday's crash along Interstate 70 in Lakewood has been identified.

Ginger Underwood of Wheat Ridge was killed when police said she drove her Lexus sedan through the center median and into oncoming traffic, crashing into a semi.

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Denver West Marriott Boulevard. Underwood, 67, died at the scene.

The driver of the semi was rushed to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators have no reason to believe drugs and/or drugs were involved but are awaiting toxicology reports from the coroner's office before making their final determination.

The crash kept eastbound lanes of I-70 closed for 4½ hours during cleanup and investigation. Westbound lanes were also closed for sometime.
