DENVER (CBS4) - Spring snow is typically wet and heavy, weighing down trees and branches. The Mother's Day snowstorm damaged trees and cars, but most homeowners were prepared.

Thousands of Xcel Energy customers across the metro area lost power, but service has since been restored.

For Denver residents, disposing of tree branches comes with some guidelines. They can't be larger than four feet long and four inches in diameter, cannot weigh over 50 pounds, and must be bundled or tied.

The branches meeting these requirements can be put out with the trash on the normal collection day.
