Despite Cold, Thousands Watch Fireworks In Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - The cold didn't stop Denverites from ringing in the new year in style in downtown Denver overnight.

Thousands of people packed the 16th Street Mall for fireworks at 9 a.m. and then again at midnight.

Temperatures were well below freezing, but that didn't put a damper on the celebration.

While the show is a highlight for many, the night goes beyond the twinkling lights. It's about reflection, and looking back at all that 2015 brought with it.

"My son got married, this year, so that's a big moment for sure," said Bob Finch.

"I went to Disneyland with my family," said Skylar Arpaio.

"I graduated med school and got into residency," said Shannon Hempstead.
