Denver's Downtown Aquarium Welcomes New Otter

DENVER (CBS4) - There's a new star attraction at Denver's Downtown Aquarium, and he's a whole lot of adorableness.

Oliver the Otter was transferred to the aquarium from Tampa, Florida.

"Earlier this month, Oliver approached a patron at a gas station in Tampa," the Downtown Aquarium wrote on their Facebook page. That person rescued the frantic pup, "who was then transferred to the Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife."

The local sanctuary took care of Oliver while trying to find him a home.

Because Oliver has interacted so much with people, it's not safe for him to the wild.

"After careful consideration and research, Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife has found a forever home for the otter at Downtown Aquarium," staff wrote.

With the help of FedEx, Oliver came to the Mile High City via Memphis this last week, and is now settling in and being his playful otter self.
