CSU Student Accused Of Stealing Ambulance Appears In Court
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado State University student accused of stealing an ambulance appeared in court on Friday morning.
Investigators say Stefan Sortland, an 18-year-old sophomore, stole the ambulance from a parking lot on the Fort Collins campus on Sunday and drove it to Loveland.
Paramedics went inside a building for about 25 minutes and when they came out, their ambulance was gone.
Police were able to track the ambulance through its GPS system.
Loveland police say the 18-year-old was next to the ambulance wearing the EMT's safety vest and would not follow commands when they caught up with him.

They used a stun gun when he started walking towards them. At that time he was clutching a blanket and a box of Wheat Thins.
Sortland also allegedly punched a correctional officer who was delivering a meal.
Sortland faces several charges including vehicle theft and assault.
