Boy Scouts Tackle Tumbleweed Cleanup

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (CBS4) – Boy Scouts helped clean up yards overflowing with tumbleweeds over the weekend.

High winds whipped up the tumbleweeds last week in a Fountain neighborhood.

The scouts loaded the tumbleweeds into the back of pickup trucks.

"When they scoop it into the truck you have to have the little kids stomp down on the tumbleweeds and they're jumping up and down. I think they're having fun doing this," said homeowner Gordon Klingenschmitt.

The weeds were then taken to dumpsters.

"I actually enjoyed helping because I got a good feeling inside," said scout Jordan Kossmen.

More than two dozen yards are now all cleaned up.
