5 Acres Burn In Fire At Cherry Creek State Park

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A small brush fire broke out at Cherry Creek State Park Sunday afternoon.

The first call came in to Cunningham Fire at 2:30 p.m. for a fire on the North Connector Trail, south of the park's east entrance. Aurora and South Metro fire departments assisted in putting out the five acre fire.

Crews worked on containment past 4:30 p.m., as heavy downed trees and organic debris caught fire.

A cause has not yet been identified, nor has the starting point of the fire.
