Classes resume Thursday at Zion Elementary District 6 schools after cybersecurity incident

Zion District 6 schools closed for third day after cybersecurity incident

All seven Zion Elementary District 6 schools will be back in session on Thursday following a cybersecurity incident over the weekend.

In addition, all activities before and after school will also resume.

The district became aware of the incident on Sunday and closed all schools and offices from Monday to Wednesday after the incident was said to have possibly impacted some systems and servers.

It's unclear what kind of cyber-attack it was or if any personal information has been compromised.

The district said they are working with a third-party cybersecurity specialist to find the root of the incident and restore things to normal.

Staff were at the schools on Wednesday in preparation for students' return.

Additional updates can be found through the district's alert tracker.
