Warm week ahead in Chicago

Nice warm week ahead

CHICAGO (CBS) — Pleasant September weather continues all week with cool, comfortable nights and warmer-than-normal, sunny days.

CBS

Tuesday morning's low temperatures fall into the 40s and 50s under mainly clear skies.

Tuesday's high temperatures rebounded into the 80s as hazy sunshine ruled the skies, a byproduct of western wildfire smoke blowing into the Chicago area.

Smoke is expected to remain elevated in the sky rather than cause ground-level air quality problems.

We are closely following Tropical Storm Francine in the Gulf of Mexico. It is slated to hit Louisiana as a hurricane this week.

CBS

The remnants of the storm are expected to drift into Illinois this weekend, bringing mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Low: 57

Tomorrow: Hazy sunshine. Warmer than normal. High: 84

Wednesday: Hot sunshine. High: 89
