Two rounds of storms possible Wednesday in Chicago

A hot and dry Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS) — Following a glancing blow from a complex of morning thunderstorms early Wednesday, heat and humidity return through the evening.

The highest chance of rain this week arrives in the predawn hours on Thursday when a complex of heavy to severe storms races in from the west. 

Thursday morning may be rainy on the roadways, and showers and storms are expected to regenerate in the afternoon and evening.

Rain and lightning will be possible on the first night of Lollapalooza, so heed weather warnings if you are heading to Grant Park.

Additional scattered rain is forecast for one more day on Friday, along with cooler northeast winds blowing in from the lake. Hot sunshine returns much of the weekend, with a slight chance of rain late Sunday.

Friday: Cooler, especially lakeside. Mostly cloudy with scattered rain. High: 82
