Three Shot, Including Boy, 15, In South Deering
(STMW) -- Three people were shot -- including a 15-year-old boy -- Sunday morning in the South Deering neighborhood.
About 10:15 a.m., two men were inside a vehicle travelling in the 9500 block of South Jeffery when a white SUV pulled up next to them and someone inside opened fire, police said.
One male, 17, was shot in the wrist and thigh. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition. The other man, 18, was shot in the back and was taken to the same hospital in serious condition, police said.
The suspects drove away and turned east on 96th Street when they then opened fire and struck a 15-year-old boy in the 2000 block of East 96th Street, police said. The boy was shot in the back, chest and taken to Christ Medical Center in serious condition.
