Chicago area gets sunny weekend

CHICAGO (CBS) — Scattered thunderstorms swept the area Thursday evening as an atmospheric impulse emerged.

In its wake, high humidity and light winds are expected to lead to widespread fog on Friday and Saturday mornings. Use low-beam headlights and drive slowly when you encounter areas of dense fog.

The weekend forecast brings the return of unseasonable warmth with plenty of sunshine. 

Temperatures surge further to July-like middle 80s early next week, but a risk of severe thunderstorms may follow on Tuesday evening.
