Rain chances through the weekend in Chicago

Storms coming Friday morning in Chicago

Chicago is heading into a wet weather pattern for the next several days.

Scattered showers and storms are expected Thursday night into Friday morning, especially after midnight. A few storms could produce some small hail.

Lows will be in the upper 40s.

Showers persist Friday morning, and then the area will be drying out for the afternoon with decreasing clouds. Highs will be very warm in the mid to upper 70s, thanks to gusty southwest winds up to 40 mph.

Additional showers are in the forecast for Saturday, with highs in the 60s in many spots, but staying in the 40s along the North Shore.

The best chance of rain this weekend arrives Sunday with numerous showers and storms in the afternoon. A strong storm is possible, but mainly southwest of Chicago.

Moisture lingers into Monday morning, and then more rain arrives middle part of next week.
