President Joe Biden in Chicago for fundraising event

CHICAGO (CBS) — President Joe Biden visited Chicago on Monday to attend a campaign fundraiser.

Mr. Biden arrived by helicopter in the parking lot behind Soldier Field Monday afternoon.

He was greeted by local leaders – including Mayor Brandon Johnson, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, and U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-Illinois).

The president then stopped at The Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton Pl., for a campaign meeting.

Afterward, he headed to a private residence for the fundraising event.

Mr. Biden started his Midwest trip with a visit to Madison, Wisconsin, to announce the details of his new student loan debt relief plan.
