Police: Male Shot To Death In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A male was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The male, whose age was not immediately known, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the arms and torso about 1:35 p.m. in the 4100 block of West Adams Street, police said.

He was walking on the sidewalk when an unknown number of offenders exited a vehicle that pulled up alongside him, and shots were fired, police said. The offenders then got back in the vehicle and it sped away.

The male was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
