Witness: Sports Car Was Speeding Before Fatal Bridgeview Crash

(CBS) -- Four people were killed and a 13-year-old boy injured in a crash in southwest suburban Bridgeview Friday evening, and speed may have been a factor.

The crash happened in the 8200 block of South Harlem Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. according to Bridgeview police and fire officials.

Hector Gonzalez Jr. was taken to Christ Hospital after the crash killed his parents, Maria and Hector Gonzalez Sr. The 13-year-old was inside the Dodge Dakota when it was hit head-on by a Chevy Camaro.

Aiman Salem, 21, of Worth and Alaa Mustafa Alkhatib, 24 were also killed in the crash. They were both in the Camaro

A witness at the scene tells CBS 2 the Camaro was travelling as fast as 100 mph when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the pickup truck.

"The Camaro lost control," says motorist Mohammed Ayyad of Chicago, who witnessed the collision. "It's unbelievable to drive 80 miles, 90 miles or 100 miles (per hour) here. I wish everybody think about it."

Martin Gonzalez says that his brother, Hector, was a hard worker.

"I'm gonna miss him a lot a lot of people they know him, they're gonna miss him a lot too," he said.

The family was headed to Martin Gonzalez's house for a Fourth of July barbecue.
