Police: 1 Killed, 1 Wounded In West Englewood Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood early Friday, police said.

The two, 34 and 35, were standing outside in the 2000 block of West 63rd Street about 2:37 a.m. when a black vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, police said. The vehicle then drove off in an unknown direction.

The 34-year-old was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

The other man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, police said.
