Woman Fatally Struck By Metra Train In Forest Glen

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 57-year-old woman was fatally struck by a Metra train late Wednesday in the Northwest Side Forest Glen neighborhood.

Roseanna Slawson was struck by an inbound Milwaukee District North train about 11:30 p.m. near the Forest Glen station, 5310 N. Forest Glen Ave., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and a Metra spokeswoman. She was pronounced dead at 4:33 a.m.

She lived in the 600 block of North Kolmar, the medical examiner's office said.

The inbound train was stopped for about 2 hours, according to Metra. The last outbound train departed 90 minutes late.
